What to prepare for online competition?
What to prepare for online exam?
Exams are monitored through a camera system integrated into the exam platform. Students must use a device with an active, functioning camera and mic with stable internet connectivity throughout the exam. Meanwhile, the exam portal will also record the candidate screen activities for exam security during the exam. So you have to make sure your device, browser, internet connection, camera and screen sharing meet the technical requirements and are properly set up for a smooth and uninterrupted exam experience.
Exam Rules
IESO 2026 Heat Round Important Info
System will open from 10am – 9pm on competition days. Candidate must submit answers before 9pm.
Fee is RM90 per candidate
Category: Grade 1 to Grade 12 (Primary 1 to A-Levels/STPM)

Paper A is for Primary 1 & 2
Paper B is for Primary 3 & 4
Paper C is for Primary 5 & 6
Paper D is for Secondary 1/Form 1/Year 7
Paper E is for Secondary 2/Form 2/Year 8
Paper F is for Secondary 3/Form 3/Year 9, Junior Secondary/Form 4/Year 10 & Senior Secondary/Form 5/Year 11.
Language Of Paper: English, Chinese & Malay (within the same question)
Total Number Of Questions: 25 Multiple Choice questions
Time allowed to answer questions: 60 minutes
AWARDS
Students who won Gold/Silver/Bronze are qualified to enter IESO Final round. Further details, please refer to IESO Final Round tab.
Top-performing students in the heat or national rounds receive the following awards based on their performance:
• Gold Medal + Certificate of Recognition: Awarded to students who achieve 80% or more correct answers.
• Silver Medal + Certificate of Recognition: Awarded to students who achieve 60% or more correct answers.
• Bronze Medal + Certificate of Recognition: Awarded to students who achieve 40% or more correct answers.
• Merit Certificate: Awarded to students who achieve 20% or more correct answers.
• Certificate of Participation: For those who achieve below 20% correct answers.

IESO Final Round 2026
Students who are eligible to compete for the International/Final Rounds are those who garnered Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals in the IESO 2026 Heat Round. Participation in the International Round is voluntary in nature. Registration fee and details will be announced together with Heat Round result.
There are 2 options available.
Student can join PhIMO Final Round 2026 either
Face to face at Clark, Pampanga Philippine from 4th September 2026 to 7th September 2026.
or
Online competition at home on 5th September 2026, morning. Actual time to be confirmed.
