Fermat Mathematical Olympiad (FMO)
Fermat Mathematical Olympiad (FMO) is an annual competition organized and hosted by Fermat Education, an authorized Vietnamese organization responsible for many international Olympiad competitions. FMO serves as an academic playground for students with passion for Mathematics ranging from Grade 1 to Grade 12 students.
THE FMO AIMS TO:
help students develop their mathematical skills, creative thinking, and ability to apply knowledge to real-life and global problems.
presents familiar concepts in a practical manner, aligned with the general curriculum at each level.
provides students with interesting experiences and helps them see the relevance of mathematics in everyday life.
We have candidates from Azerbaijan, India, Bulgaria, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Kyrgyzstan, Macau, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand & Uzbekistan.Â
FMO competition problems are based on the international curriculum standards in
- Arithmetic
& Number theory - Patterns and Algebra
- Geometry
- Statistics
- Logical thinking

FMO Final Round 2026
Students who are eligible to compete for the Final Rounds are those who garnered Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals in the FMO 2025 National Round. Participation in the Final Round is voluntary in nature. Registration fee and details will be announced together with National Round result.
FMO Final Round 2026 will be held from 23rd January 2026 to 25th January 2026 in Nha Trang, Vietnam
Exam Venue: Diamond Bay Resort & Spa.

Language Of Paper: English only
**There is no translation for final round.
** Note: for Face to face candidates may only use ONE authorized, paper-based dictionary without
any modifications. The dictionary is for translation purposes only.

Fee is RM95.00 per candidate
Category: Grade 1 to Grade 12 (Primary 1 to A-Levels/STPM)
** All students in the senior secondary (grade 10 – grade 12) will do the same exam paper and be ranked as a whole.
Language Of Paper: English, Chinese & Malay (within the same question)
Time allowed to answer questions:
Primary students:Â 75 minutes
Secondary students: 90 minutes

** Marks are awarded for correct answers only.
** There is no penalty for incorrect answers.

System will open from 10am – 9pm on competition days. Need to submit answers before 9pm.
