The Philippine International Mathematical Olympiad (PhIMO)

The Philippine International Mathematical Olympiad (PhIMO) is the most sophisticated international mathematics competition among Kindergarten to Grade 12 students.

PhIMO is designed to honor the best learners in the world in mathematical problem-solving through a friendly competition and foster cultural exchange among countries that participate therein.

THE PHIMO AIMS TO:

Gather young mathematically-gifted students all over the world to engage in a friendly international mathematics competition;
Challenge young mathematicians to strive for excellence in mathematics; and
Honor and reward mathematical talents to serve as models of global citizens.

We have candidates from Philippines, Thailand, Australia, Japan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Myanmar, Iran, Cambodia, Russia & Taiwan.

PhIMO Final Round 2025

Students who are eligible to compete for the International/Final Rounds are those who garnered Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals in the PhIMO 2025 Heat Round. Participation in the International Round is voluntary in nature. Registration fee and details will be announced together with Heat Round result.

There are 2 options available.

Student can join PhIMO Final Round 2025 either

Face to face at Cebu, Philippine from 19th September 2025 to 22nd September 2025.

Online competition at home on 20th September 2025, 9am-11am.

21st September 2025 Day 3: Awarding Ceremony

There are 3 online training sessions by PhIMO International Team.
Discussions are in English.
Discussions are for both Face to Face and Online students.

No reschedule of exam.
Please join the exam on the date and time allowed only.
The organizing committee reserved the final decision-making rights on all disputes.

PhIMO 2025 Heat Round Important Info

Exam Date: 17-5-2025 & 18-5-2025, Saturday & Sunday

Registration Fee: Fee is RM85.00 per candidate

Category: Kindergartens, Year 1 to Year 13 (Primary 1 to A-Levels/STPM)

Language Of Paper: English, Chinese & Malay (within the same question)

Time allowed to answer questions: 90 minutes (The time spent to answer questions will not affect your score)

Total Number Of Questions: 25 questions

PART ① (Questions 1 to 10):
There are 10 multiple-choice questions. Each question carries 2 marks.

PART ② (Questions 11 to 25):
There are 15 open-ended questions.

Questions 11 to 20, each carries 3 marks.
Questions 21 to 25, each carries 5 marks.

** Marks are awarded for correct answers only.
** There is no penalty for incorrect answers.

System will open from 10am – 9pm on competition days. Need to submit answers before 9pm.

AWARDS

Students who won Gold/Silver/Bronze are qualified to enter PhIMO International round. Further details, please refer to PhIMO Final Round tab.
